Sock School with Jamie Mayfield

Jamie Mayfield is coming to The Nest March 10 - 12, 2023!  She's the Queen of CSM Socktv and she will be teaching three days of workshops!  So, dust off those circular sock machines and get ready!!

Day 1 - In this first day you will not just be perfecting your heels and toes and cranking a no show tab sock, but you'll be taking your heel and toe making skills to a new level! You'll understand how to never get dog ears on your toes.  Jamie will also teach an easy way to do toe up (Kitchener free) socks.  Other topics she'll cover are yarn changes without dropping stitches, machine mechanics, heels with no holes and why you would get a hole on the heel in the first place, Kitchener from the outside (knit side), which you must know in order to make a lot of projects on the CSM.  Even if you are a heel and toe expert, you will be challenged to learn new ways to make your socks even better.  

Day 2 - The morning will consist of mastering your ribber and in the afternoon you will make a ribbed sock!

Day 3 - You will learn a sampling of fancy techniques including, easy lace, and how to do a thumb gusset for mitts! 

Limit of 20 students per day! Classes will be 9:00 - 4:00 each day.

Cost is $140.00 per person, per day, includes lunches, snacks and tons of fun!

Pre-requisite:  You must have a machine and be confident that it is working properly, and you can easily crank a tube. 

Supplies:  Your CSM with cylinder(s) and your table (I will provide chairs), yarn, forks and weights, stitch tool, oil & towel, pencil and paper for notes, and a table light.

Hotels in the area: Holiday Inn Express and Hilton Garden Inn are just down the street.  The Hampton Inn, Residence Inn, Courtyard Marriott are super close.

The Yarnbyrds Nest is located on my personal property at 4955 Sunbury Road, Columbus, Ohio (near Easton Town Center and next door to the Lamb of God Lutheran Church).  Follow the drive to the back of the property.

Refund Policy
• A full refund will be given if you cancel 48 hrs or more prior to class.
• If Yarnbyrds and/or Jamie Mayfield cancels for any reason you will have a choice of applying the fee to another Sock School with Jamie Mayfield or receiving a refund.
