Sock School with Jamie Mayfield & Sue Vunesky

Jamie Mayfield and Sue Vunesky will be returning to The Nest on July 30- August 1, 2025!  Jamie, the Queen of CSM Socktv and Sue, her #1 amazing sidekick, will be teaching three days of workshops!  So, dust off those circular sock machines and get ready!!

Wednesday, July 30 - Day 1 - In this first day you will perfect heels and toes and crank a no-show tab sock.  We'll also have a corner in The Nest for those who wish to take their heels & toes to the next level as Jamie will teach you how to never get those dog ears on your toes; how to change colors; how to finish your toes on the machine, and much more!

Thursday, July 31 - Day 2 - The morning will consist of mastering your ribber and in the afternoon you will make a ribbed sock!  For those crankers that wish a more advanced class, Jamie will teach you how to time your ribber and to crank heels in the ribber position.

Friday, August 1 - Day 3 - NEW! An advance class is being offered to those who wish to crank it up! Jamie and Sue will be offering you projects that will teach you a thumb gusset, ribbed cable and lace. 

Limit of 15 students per day! Classes are 9:00 - 4:00 each day.

Cost is $150.00 per person, per day + a one-time fee of $35 for materials; full cone of project yarn and a full cone of waste yarn, to be paid in cash to Jamie on the day of your class.  Each day includes lunch, snacks, shopping and tons of fun!

Pre-requisite:  You must have a machine and be confident that it is working properly, and you can easily crank a tube. 

Supplies:  Your CSM with cylinder(s) and your table (I will provide chairs w/ cushions), yarn, forks and weights, stitch tool, oil & towel, pencil and paper for notes, and a table light. 

*Please remember that this is a class and NOT a crank-in.  Space is limited in The Nest, so please bring only what you need for your classes.

Hotels: Holiday Inn Express and Hilton Garden Inn are just down the street.  The Hampton Inn, Residence Inn, Courtyard Marriott are super close.

The Yarnbyrds Nest is located on my personal property at 4955 Sunbury Road, Columbus, Ohio (near Easton Town Center and next door to the Lamb of God Lutheran Church).  Follow the drive to the back of the property.

*All classes are non-refundable, however, you may transfer your spot to another cranker. If Yarnbyrds and/or Jamie Mayfield and Sue Vunesky cancel you will have a choice of applying the fee to another Sock School event or receive a refund.
